Athens – it really is the ancient city of the world. So where better to bring to life the music of both master and contemporary composers from across the world then in the ancient city of Athens.
This 9 day tour will see you take to the stage for a Choir performance in Piraeus, surely a once in a lifetime opportunity. You’ll also have a chance to soak up the energy and atmosphere that is both present and past Athens; linger in open-air restaurants and wander markets, scenes which are all framed by the magnificent Acropolis that reaches high into the sky. Then take to the emerald waters of the Aegean Sea on a 3 day, 3 night Greek Island cruise. Marvel as those iconic Greek postcard scenes come to life; swaying windmills, dramatic cliffs, and whitewashed houses. These all combine to form an experience of a lifetime, and one that will leave you with memories that are simply priceless. |

CHANGING OF THE GUARDS – ATHENSThe Changing of the Guards happens every hour in front of the Hellenic Parliament in Athens Syntagma Square. The duties of the soldiers are part of a ceremonial nature. Every soldier guards for about an hour, 3 times in total every 48 hours. Throughout these 60 minutes, they have to stand perfectly still until it is time to switch with another guard. During the changing, they work in pairs so they can perfectly coordinate their moves. The steps that the official ceremony requires at the time of changing are carried out in really slow motion to protect their blood circulation after 60 min of immobility.
