Message from Our Artistic Director

Dear Mountainside Master Chorale Friends,

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, I pause to reflect on our journey. We have been blessed to perform new music by living composers and numerous masterworks; we have toured the world, and most importantly we continue to sing for you after a quarter century. What an incredible joy and privilege it has been.

We are now in celebration mode as we begin our 25th season! This year the Chorale will perform a broad and dynamic repertoire, from signature favorites and German masters, to English rock, Americana, and much more. Our season opens with “A Taste of Jazz” featuring jazz pianist Porfirio Mojica and soloists from the Chorale in a very special all-jazz concert. In December, we kick off the Christmas season with “Noel! A Holiday Celebration.” Our program will focus on music of many centuries and styles, artfully melded for a unique and popular concert. In March, enjoy favorites from past years: spirituals, popular, and classical choral works in our “Bach to Beatles” concert. We conclude our special anniversary season with one of the most famous choral masterworks of all time, Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana.”

Many of you attended our first concert in 1994, many have joined us along the way, and we look forward to welcoming more of you into our circle in the years ahead. On behalf of the Chorale, thank you for continuing this journey with us. We cant’t wait to see what the next twenty-five years bring.

Sincerely,
